FunFair Tokenomics 2020 - FunFair's FUN token and how it aligns incentives across 6 distinct groups of stakeholders to create a compelling gaming platform
FunFair has come a long way since I started following the team in 2017, recently adding a Japanese casino (the fourth casino now in the network), in-wallet purchase of FUN with credit/debit cards, the removal of the need for ETH to cover gas charges, browser and device-independent play, an easy to use wallet and a raft of new games. Unlike many crypto projects where tokens were seen primarily as a fund-raising approach, the FUN token provides significant utility by coordinating the activities and incentives of the six stakeholder types within the FunFair ecosystem:
FUN Token Holders
Casino Players
Affiliates and Referral Partners
Licensed Operators and White Labels (Casinos)
Game Developers
Gaming Regulators
For me, the FUN token is THE perfect example of a project where the token has significant utility in aligning incentives across disparate stakeholders and is a poster child for effective tokenomics. Here's my personal view on the value propositions and incentives for each of these groups:
The FUN token is a standard ERC-20 token and is thus easily managed on a wide variety of Ethereum hardware and software wallets
FUN is traded on major exchanges such as Binance (International), Uniswap, etc. and is thus quite liquid
FUN is a non-inflationary token - there will only ever be 11 Billion FUN tokens and 4.45 Billion of those are held in cold storage and not expected to ever be used
All of the 2.29B Founders tokens have long been unlocked, thus there is no ongoing selling pressure from those allocations
As players play, a portion of the FUN tokens representing the house profits are ‘singed’ - that is, they are sent to an address that effectively takes them out of circulation. This is slightly different from the tokens being burned (irretrievably destroyed) but has a similar result in that they are no longer available for trade or purchase by anyone.
Scarcity of FUN (and therefore it's presumed value) will also be driven by more and more Casinos coming online and needing to establish their own bankrolls
FunFair has stated that they want to support FUN Staking - which would allow FUN token holders to lock their FUN tokens up in a smart contract and form part of a communal bankroll that could be used by new Casinos leveraging the FunFair platform. These token holders would then share in the house profits generated from that bankroll. There has not been any specific date given for rolling out this feature but the community is excited about it and the team has come up with a technical approach for implementing this.

Gaming Regulators
FunFair allows straightforward verification that the games used by a given operator are provably fair
Provides an automated dispute resolution mechanism
Facilitates verifying appropriate KYC / AML laws, including age, identity verification, source of funds, etc. are being consistently enforced for each jurisdiction
Allows consistent implementation of Responsible Gaming / Vulnerable Player policies network wide
The non-custodial nature of FunFair means Operators cannot abscond with player funds or delay withdrawals, a common source of player complaints
As you can see, the value to each stakeholder is considerable - especially when compared to the current legacy technology - which is why I'm bullish that FunFair will be successful in achieving its mission of truly reinventing this industry. What do you think? Do you see other value props? Let me know and I'll add them to the list!
Tired of people earning money from my content....the journey starts today
Sorry. This is an exceedingly long, unedited post of tired rambling. I didn't anticipate it being this long. Kudos if you read it through to the end. I am a freelance writer. I have been for about 5-6 years. I absolutely love the job. It is just that I haven't had a single day in those 6 years where I haven't written something or communicated with a client. Without going into detail, I am tired of what a few of my clients are willing to put me through. It takes a toll on your mental health. I don't want to go into details on that, but I would say about 10% of my clients are the perfect clients. The other 90%...oh my. I am sick of it. Recently, I have found out that a good number of my clients are using only my content. This is fantastic. I love to be the sole writer on a website. I get to see it grow from infancy, and I am allowed to inject my own writing style into everything. I have never been a person that enjoys following what other people have written. It doesn't allow my personality to shine through in the writing. Anyway, around 3 of my clients who solely use my content for their projects make a 'full-time living' through affiliate marketing. We aren't talking a 'full-time living' in one of the cheaper countries. We are talking full-time living in London. I know that content isn't the only component when it comes to successful affiliate marketing. It is still a major component, though. The way I see it is that the content I produce is the last thing a person sees before they get a conversion. Send as much traffic as you like to my content, but it is my content that pushes people over the finish line. Hell, I was one of 40 writers working for one of the largest personal injury lawyers in England & Wales, and my content converted the highest. Although, that was mostly because I was the only writer who had any form of legal training, and thus could write something which sounded rather professional. I know I could sit back and continue to churn out content for my clients. It is a decent income. I can survive in Sweden on it. But I want more. I want the ability to sit back and relax on occasion. I don't want the fear of my phone ringing at 3:00 am, or the fear of PayPal chargebacks. I know it sounds a little bit bitter this, but I feel that my content has real value. Even if I upped my prices, I could probably still earn a whole lot more from it on my own. I really do love my clients. I am not going to ditch many of them. I am just tired of working for somebody else. I don't care if income from affiliate marketing doesn't end up paying the bills. It would be nice. However, if affiliate marketing meant that I could cut back on even 10% of my daily freelance writing work, it would be bloody brilliant. My experience with affiliate marketing I have a bit of experience with affiliate marketing. Obviously, I have been producing content for major companies, and thus I am familiar with some of the technicalities. I can write reviews that convert. I can write informational posts that can go viral on social media. I am 100% familiar with the content side of things, right down to content research. I would produce all my own content here. No outsourcing. I have generated a few sales via Amazon Associates. This was a personal project of mine. A product which was previously unavailable in the UK was launched. I was the first to spot it. I quickly put together a website. Picked me up a domain name. Threw maybe 10-15 pages of content up on a website. The whole process took about 10 hours. At around 8 am in the morning, I mentioned the news on Reddit in the sub dedicated to this product. Linked right to the news page. Done the same on social media. Within 4 hours, I had around 10 conversions. Pocketed me a cool £200. Google AdSense, I currently have £7.43 in my account. Not 100% sure why. I am guessing this is from when I parked a few domains a while back. How I am going to do this The majority of my clients are in either casinos or porn. I will not work with either. It is unfair to step on the toes of my clients. They have helped to get me where I am today. Sucks I won't be able to see the sweet lifetime recurring commissions from casinos, though. Thankfully, I already have a few websites built up. 7 of them, in fact. I estimate that they have about 20-30 articles on each of them. No site has under 30,000 words in content. Why do I have so many sites? Well, because I have this 'live portfolio' thing going. Rather than just link to Google Drive to show my articles, I decided to put them online in a live environment. For some reason, I was able to get more conversions in certain niches when I did this. People loved seeing the content I produced 'live', and this was the only way I could do it. Obviously, I couldn't share articles I had ghostwritten. All of my sites are in different niches. I will likely try to monetize all of them at some point. They have been kicking around for a few years with regular content refreshes. A couple of them have generated a few backlinks too. They seem to be quality backlinks, which I guess is a good thing. Since I already budget myself time each day to 'expand' my portfolio (or give the live sites a content refresh), transitioning these sites to be money generators shouldn't take long (well, the actual generating money part will). It should also be easy to find the time to add content to the websites. If I juggle some things around, I believe I can find the time to provide each site with 2-3 substantial articles per week. Well-written. I already work 12-hours a day, so what is a couple more? One of my clients regularly gets interviewed in the media for her niche (she is one of the big earners), and I am regularly brought up in her interviews. I am thinking that I will able to leverage this in some way, but I am not sure how to at the moment. The name check helps, and it helps to point out my freelance website, but I don't want those links to point there. I have some ideas as to how to make this work but will need to chat with my client. I work with an SEO expert. While he initially wanted to work on these projects with me 'as a team', we eventually opted against it. Instead, I am going to provide him with free content and he will provide SEO services in exchange. Obviously, he won't be able to do all my SEO. I will likely be reaching out to past clients of mine, offering free content in exchange for a link. I am fairly confident a decent number will say yes. I know a lot of you will say 7 sites is a lot to work on at once. It probably is. But, I am always up for a challenge. It begins now So, I am sitting here at 2:40 am. My journey starts now. Not when I wake up. Now. Already done the following for each of my sites: - Yoast - Google Analytics - Google Search Console I have also done the basics of keyword research and have generated a few ideas for content on each of the websites. I will get started on the research for a major informational post now, and then put together some content tomorrow. I am hoping this little project goes well. If I can make something within the next 3-months, it will be fantastic.
How can I get myself banned from online casinos to end this addiction?
Hi there, This is the first time I posted on reddit and first time I am truly admitting my gambling problem. I have been online gambling for 8 years, im almost 29 now and started in college. I have a solid job and come from a fortunate family. I hid this for years from everyone until I recently admitted it to my mother and brother. This was a few months ago, and I recently began playing again without their knowledge. I have gambled away at least 200k over the past 8 years and it could be more. I live far away from any real casinos(go once a year on vacation) so that isn't the problem. I have asked every website to ban me and delete my account, but it works until my next binge when they reinstate the account. Is there a way for me to get blacklisted from online casinos? it would really change my life for the better, especially with this economic crisis from coronavirus. Should I request a chargeback in order to be banned? I am not looking to recover this money, just get out for good? please help as I feel petty hopeless at the moment. Stay healthy and safe
If you open an online business, you want to get some income. The most common way - to provide online payment services through some payment provider. What is a payment provider? It is a company which provides special services for your website to receive online payments. There are some banks that provide such opportunity but in almost all cases you need to use these providers. These solutions provide a greater degree of control and automation to merchants, allowing them to interface with multiple processors and also help secure cardholder data while reducing PCI compliance scope. Benefits from payment processing integration:
It saves your time.
Reduces chargebacks
Incraeses money flow
Decreases a human errors
To choose the best payment provider you must know what kind of business you’ve got:
Online gambling or casinos
VOIP or telemarketing
Pharmaceuticals
Adult materials, products or services
Airline tickets
Bitcoins or Forex trading
Dating services
Magazine subscriptions
E cigarettesTimeshares
Computer software or hardware
If your business is close to one of them - you’ve got a high-risk business. For your business to accept payments via credit cards, you should open a merchant account from an acquiring bank. The cost for opening the account differs depending on your business type. Naturally, fees for high-risk businesses are higher. Such business require a special payment solutions.
For anyone thinking about selling vaporizers, ejuice or other "High Risk" items. Research High Risk merchant accounts before starting your business
High Risk Merchant Processing - Sure You Want To Get Into That Niche? I've been spending a lot of time on Reddit lately and have seen a lot of questions being asked about starting businesses selling ejuice, vaporizers and vape accessories, water pipes, coin, and many other products that are considered "high risk" to merchant processors. Most people are probably not even aware there are certain products and industries basically locked out of banking and credit card processing. We've all heard how Medical Marijuana dispenseries have trouble finding banking relationships and credit card processors, however many people don't realize that many seemingly normal and legal products are banned by nearly all credit card processors. These items could be anything from vaporizers or any vaping accessories, anything collectible, autographed memorbilia be it sports or celebrity stuff, coins, currency, drones, any non-tanginble items; ie programs and ebooks, many services, Most credit card processors, as well as third party aggregators like Paypal, Stripe, and others, have a long list of specific items and businesses which they won't allow to use their service. All of them also add a caveat about how they have the right to refuse or terminate any relationship they believe may tarnish their repuation. This essentially means, if they happen to not specifically call out your product or industry or business, that they can fall back on that "harm to them" which basically means at anytime they can decide to kill your payment processing for whatever reason they deem necessary. Some Examples Of Merchant Providers Prohibited Categories Paypal Prohibited Businesses and Products Stripe Prohibited Busineses and Products Square Prohibited Businesses and Products First Data Prohibited Businesses and Products Is It Worth Entering A High Risk Industry? I think most people think hey, I'll start a business, signup for a merchant account and things will be all good. For 99% of merchants this is true but many industries named above have an uphill battle finding credit card processors. These businesses may occasionally find someone to take them on and they may have processing for a matter of days, weeks, or even months; but eventually that dreaded call or e-mail will come telling you that they are terminating their relationship with you and your business; and you'll be left scrambling to find a way to accept credit card payments. The reason for this post is to bring this lesser known issue to people's attention. I've been spending a lot of time in the "Ecommerce" subreddit lately and see a lot of people dabbling with the idea of certain industries considered "high risk". I write this not necessarily to discourage people from entering these industries but at the very least, know what you are getting into. I personally have run a business and sold items considered "high risk". My items were legal and not even really in any way "shady", had nothing to do with vaping, drugs or anything even questionable in nature; however I later learned my products had a high risk of credit card chargebacks and it's basically been impossible to accept credit card payments. I was with Paypal for over 4 years. I did over 2 Million a year in sales on Paypal. I paid Paypal over $80,000 a year in processing fees and they still dropped me like a bad habit. Due to my stellar seller performance and relationship with my account manager they were kind enough to give me 30 days notice to find a new processor but not a whole lot of good that did as there really are no other options. I wound up trying a few high risk credit card merchants. Got scammed out of a few thousand dollars, got a merchant account outside of the USA and thought all was good. What nobody tells you is that if you use a foreign merchant account 99.9% of your transactions will be declined by your customers bank for being "suspicious transactions". In order to get the transaction to go through nearly EVERY customer of yours will have to call their bank, explain the purchase, and ask the bank to okay that purchase. A huge headache when your trying to run an ecommerce business. Another thing is 99% of high risk merchant processors are scams. I personally was scammed out of about $3,000 by a scumbag named Tony from Bankcard Services out of Chicago and New York. I personally know people who have lost tens and even hundreds of thousands of Dollars from scammers in the high risk merchant processing industry. I've heard it said for every legitimate high risk merchant processor there's 1200 frauds. If you're considering entering an industry which you believe may be considered high risk, find a merchant provider, and search their website to see if the items you sell fall within the terms of service. It's also a good idea to call the merchant before opening the account. Don't just talk to a sales rep as they want the sale and will lie to you and tell you it's okay, only to have you be shut down weeks later, as all new accounts are typically audited within the first 30 days. Ask to talk to compliance or a supervisor and make sure they are okay with your business and the products you sell. This extensive list below are just some of the products and business categories which are pretty much locked out of accepting credit cards... What Types Of Businesses & Products Are Considered High Risk? Not ALL industries, but it definitely covers a large number of them.
